Socket 775 Replacement

Is it sensible to get a new socket 775 motherboard or are the processors worthless. I was considering the Asus P5Q Deluxe P45 Socket 775 for £80 with RAID etc

I've a motherboard that is very picky about graphics cards so it seem a good idea to replace it.

How does the latest socket 775 cpus compare to the current cpus. Or are there 775 cpus that are current. I see OCuk seem to be selling a few quite a few £s not sure if thats' old stock for suckers

I've a Asrock 775 DualVST with 6400 Dual Duo processor 2 gb 5300 ram

and a just bought a second hand geforce 9600 graphics card but everything doesn't seem to be as sharp as it should be

My main problem is I can't get a working graphics card. Please tell me more about the hardware mod sounds interesting.

Actually think I'll best buy a new kit sell this one off

I bust my VGA output on my graphics card by pushing a cable with a bent over pin

Wierd thing was it would display the bios ok, then the main boot up screen went blank odd as a box of frogs. (busted the VGA output on my laptop too)
