SodaStream

Sodastream ruled! Route 66 American Cola made up to about twice the strength it was meant to be was the best! Oh and fizzy ribena was awesome too :) I'd be quite happy with a sodastream and pub style postmix. Coke on tap always tastes better than bottled or canned stuff.

I finished my soda stream off when I put milk in.

Milk + CO2 = large smelly explosion

yeh the taste of the stuff is pretty bad, thats why im saying you can get the Coca Cola and Pepsi, 10 litre post mix stuff, same as you get at mcdonalds and pubs etc. It tastes identical but cheaper :D
As for cheets64 its not steam bud its carbonated water, you know the same stuff in all fizzy juice thats my typo heh.

I prefer the taste to tins or plastic bottle pepsi. Coke is still godlike from a glass bottle though.

This makes 60 litres of pepsi

Ironic that pubs/clubs etc all make more money out of these box's than spirits but the spirits are all locked up but these are left open in the cellar.

When I used to visit one of my relatives when I was younger, he had a sodastream machine... but never had a drink from it really.

What does it taste like? Is it fizzy? Bubbly? What exactly?

This was my weekend treat back in 1987, (in those days children were given fizzy drinks as treats rather than a staple diet) I used to look forward to the process of putting the bottle in the compartment and gassing it a couple of times, and making my drinks fizzy. Probably still got it somewhere, it was cream and orange. Brings back memories. Awesome.

how do you get 60 litres for 27 quid?

Price breakdown please.

It's a good idea quite eco friendly as well :D

You get a big 5L box of syrup. You mix it with carbonated water, and I guess the mixture ratio gives 60L. :) Not sure if the cost of the CO2 is factored into that cost though.

Why cant you just attempt to make your own, Sugar + lemon juice + water + soda stream = Lemonade the ol fashion way?

Nah, my parents weren't middle class enough to have a soda stream. :D
My cousin had one but I remember it being pretty rubbish, cherryade stuff, it pretty much tasted like soda water still.

I don't think the middle classes had them ;)

That was what I was implying the costs was not the machine or even the syrup it was the CO2 producing CO2 in tiny cylinders was very expensive...

each co2 cylinder makes 60 litres, syrup is 10 litres to 60litres so a perfect match :D

Sodaclub have a deal at the moment where by you can get 2 new cyclinders when you send one old one back for a small fee. Or they refill your cylinder. Sure it works out a tad more expensive but fresh pepsi rocks :D
