Sofas and Sofa Beds - Educate Me

Right, I'll start with the good old declaration of "I know nothing".

Long story short, I'm looking to put a 2 seater sofa bed/futon upstairs as a spare bed, and also potentially looking to put either 2 sofas in my lounge, or a large corner sofa.

On both items, I have no idea where good places to shop are, or even what I should expect to pay. I could go around the usual culprits like Ikea, SCS, DFS etc, but where else should I be looking?

You could look online but personally I wouldn't but a sofa without sitting on it first. It's an expensive purchase that you spend a considerable amount of time on!

The sofabed then yer online all the way. Where? I'm not sure sorry

Next do quite good sofas, lots of different types/styles/sizes/colours etc.

Only problem may be finding a Next outlet where you can actually view them and try them out.

ive just bought a next sofa. The stratus 2 in black leather. I was quite fortunate in that the one we saw they had in both fabric and leather and the leather was very comfortable. Came in at 2 grand tho for a 3 seater + love/snuggle seat so not the cheapest but they looked good quality.

futons are annoying. The cushion on the one that came with my flat doesnt attach anywhere to the base, and since they are heavy, it slides down. Also, its clearly seen better days and is all lumpy now lol. Much prefer the other sofa's etc. If you find one that has some straps or something that would be a lot better though.

Get a daybed from ikea for the upstairs, I've got one which pulls out to a double or can be used as a single bed/sofa.
