Softaware for creating image of a hard drive

I'm installing Windows 7 Pro on a new hard drive this weekend, and once I've installed all the Windows Updates I'd like to create an image of the hard drive.

Can anyone recommend some software that will allow me to do this, and then also allow me to burn the image on a new hard drive at a future date?

acronis is excellent for doing this sort of thing, and is very easy to use.

never used it so not sure. im not 100% sure if this will only work on WD drives, but worth a go?

Clonezilla, either get the live CD or get a Parted Magic Live CD which has Clonezilla and another cloning tool on. Both are free.

Another vote for CloneZilla provided you will be restoring to the same hardware.
