Softball... Heard of it? Play it?

We played it in school, but it got a bit stupid for the older years. Because it was under arm pitching, it was a fair bit slower and easier to tonk the massive ball miles, so anyone with any decent hand eye co-ordination could smack it miles, = home run every time.

You think the other team would figure it out and move their outfield further away = big hitters caught out every time... :D

yea played it in school...was very easy...theres actual teams etc for it?

maybe i should join one...and beat everyone :)

No offence, but there is a fair difference between playing it at school and even how it's played in a recreational league.
Even though it's underarm a decent pitcher can make it hard for you. You have to try and work out whether it's a good pitch or a ball, depending on how close or far away it is adjust your stance, get your swing right so it goes where you want and catch it on the right part of the bat.
Like was said above, I play outfield, if someone comes up who is a known big hitter i'll move back, it's a lot easier to run onto a ball than after it, and unless it does go over my head you have pretty much no chance of getting a homerun.
