It isnt upto photoshop ,so what free software can I put on it to process some Raw shots from my Sony A300 just to free up my memory cards if I get carried away .

Cheers

ufraw + gimp might do it. Or Picassa.

But you can just copy the pictures off the memory card onto the laptops hard drive and then transfer them to your PC when you get home.

no its old and slow ,a bit like me lol
just looking for something to process raw ,rather than shoot jpeg
thanks

Picassa handles RAW (you might have to install the Cannon or Nikon RAW driver also)... outputs to .jpg nicely!..

or find an old (v2.1 or summut) copy of Lightroom!.. :)

If you want to just browse Sony's Raw driver is a free download off the support site.

Also maybe try out Sony's edit software the "Image Data Suite" which I think is a part of the "Picture Motion Browser" installer. I'm not a huge fan due to it's slightly odd workflow (typically Sony!) but it seemed like quite light software... (I could easily be wrong though)
