Software for remotely controlling another computer

I am in need to find some free software that i can remotely control anoither computer, it needs to be dead simple to set up at the other end because the other person is not computer literate at all really (hence why I need the use of their computer to do something for them)

If there is anything about please could you recommend some?

Teamviewer? My uncle couldn't open control panel but he could set this up.

Been using Teamviewer for years to help out friends and family. If you create an account then you can save all of their computers in the 'Partners List' for quick access

what about remote assist? you can do that through windows messenger.

I use logmein but there seems to be a lot of love for teamviewer here, do you need to install anything on the computer you are connecting from for it to work?
