Software for website images

Hey guys

Making a site an fancy producing my own logo for the website plus the background images they will be a mix of ingame snippets that i use and real life images. SuggestionS?

fireworks or paint.net?

Photoshop or Fireworks. They both allow you to 'save as' for web and devices, such as PNG, GIF, etc... You'll be wanting to save most of them as PNG, especially the logo as it supports transparent backgrounds.
I recommend Photoshop, Fireworks is lacking features now.
