Does anyone know of an actual program that can backup and restore files created through Outlook i.e email address, contacts, Distribution lists etc

I've gone through the process of looking into the windows folders and found the actual location of my saved emails before. Whilst this has worked okay it seems a bit long winded. Does such a program exist, if so are there any you'd recommend? don't mind paying if program is reliable.

Thanks again in advance for any guidance

Acronis TrueImage 10 onwards is able to save Outlook info, including email settings, contacts etc.

In Outlook, have a look under 'File' > 'Import and Export' and export to a file - choose .pst format. That's what I've done for years, you can selectively back up all your folders, or just some. You can do Contacts, Calendar etc. Just import to restore...

If you're only using a POP3 account then your mail will already be stored in a PST file

you can just find it and take a copy, in Outlook go to file --> data file management --> choose your account --> select settings --> you can get the file path and name from here, if it ends in .OST you are using an exchange account and you will need to export the mail to PST using instructions above, if it ends in .PST you can just take a copy of this file

MS Personal Folders Backup Tool

I use a program called "Personal Folders Backup Tool" from MS's own website that automatically backs up everything to a specified location as often as you tell it to. It's free for valid copies of Office.

Thanks Robbie G

I've downloaded this file from Microsoft and it seems to work okay. I'm surprised no one else has developed a program to do the same task. You normally find at least half a dozen programs claiming that they do the same only better and with extra features.
