Software to detect AMD Turion (laptop) CPU Temp?

I think i have an overheating problem in an Acer Aspire 9300. It has an AMD Turion CPU.

Is there any software that preferably runs in DOS from a boot disc that will show me the CPU temp?

Is the BIOS temp not enough?

No bios temp in this laptop and indeed my modern laptop also.

CPU-Z, RivaTuner, Speccy? I'm sure 1 of these should be able to tell you.

cpu id hardware monitor? try that but that didnt detect anything on some old crap p4 laptop i repaired.

I think he's having issues getting into Windows because he thinks it's overheating.
