I currently have a little stand alone LCD (Matrix Orbital Typhoon LCD) screen which shows me my CPU temps, usage, fan speeds, memory usage etc etc... In nice little graphcs etc etc...

Very useful!

However, it's old and the software (LCD Studio) is no longer supported and I've started having issues with it, so I'm wondering if I should simply ditch it, in favour of a little LCD screen running a windows application in it?

I was looking at a Lilliput 7" (USB) screen (800x480) and wondering if someone could recommend a nice little application where you can setup and graphics/values as you want them to show the state of your PC etc?

Something like Samurize <-- Which I think is now gone!

One thing to bear in mind with extra screens like that - many of the cheaper ones if appropriate lack any kind of HDCP support and can break HDCP functionality while enabled (even if you are trying to watch content on the main screen).

Is this to do with watching films and the like? If so the only stuff I watch on that front is MKV files sometimes... I don't watch any bluerays or so forth?

Yeah blu-rays, DVDs, iTunes and Amazon HD content (SD isn't HDCP protected), etc. my use has mostly been ad hoc and just dragged HW Monitor and Afterburner, etc. onto the secondary mini display rather than setting up anything proper.

Yeh. I don't use anything like that.

I assume the USB LCD does hit CPU usage badly or anything?

I guess I'd like to start the PC, and a dedicated display appear on that 7" screen showing me the kind of stuff I've designed my little LCD display shows me.

I believe Samurize used to be able to do that, but it's gone now I believe, so I'd like to find an alternative where I could just design a display with some values/graphs etc...
