Software to measure internet usage?

Looking for a program that i can start in the morning and end in the evening that tells me how many megabytes of data i have used during the session.

Am looking at perhaps just using a mobile broadband dongle you see but ive no idea what sort of usage i average.

DU Meter. Free 30 day trial should give you an idea.

ISP Monitor is what I use. It displays download and upload amount plus current download and upload speeds. I use it as I have a 10gb download limit each month.

Plus it is freeware

Or if using home broadband, install DD-WRT.
