Software to play .dav File type(CCTY)

HI
Got a CCTV system that backs up data in .dav format.
I have tried few free software that plays .dav files but they only shows 1 channel!(Have 8 channels)
Does any one know of a (free) software that can play .dav file types with more than 1 channels?

The obvious first suggestion is VLC - it can probably be tweaked in some way to work, otherwise this seems to suggest something: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100509132520AArcKPI

Yep tried VLC but it would not open the file.
I also came across that link you mentioned, but that is the one which shows only 1 channel(cam 1)

EDIT:
Second link in the page (ver. 1.9.1.2 (with manual)) installs some malware as well

so dont try it!

Ah strange, to be honest I'm sure the format is probably just an archive of MPEG or DIVX encoded video files so there might be some way of decompiling it, slightly strange suggestion would be renaming it to .zip and opening it with WinRAR.

Slightly off topic but that works for .docx word files with images in them as well...
