is there any software available (for free) to test your graphics card like the stability of it, cause my monitor keeps going off and coming up 'no signal' and i have already tested the monitor on another computer.

yes.
i got this from windows:
Follow these steps to solve the problem with a video device driver

You received this message because a device driver installed on your computer caused the Windows operating system to stop unexpectedly. This type of error is referred to as a "stop error." A stop error requires you to restart your computer.

Solution

There are two options you can use to try to fix the problem. If the first option doesn't work, then try the second.

Option 1: Install the most current device driver for your video card

Option 2: Manually decrease Hardware Acceleration for your video adapter

done both of them, don't know what else to do. maybe the graphics card is at it's end

Sounds like you need to strip out your GFX drivers and use drivercleaner to do it. Then re-instal.
All i can suggest at the mo but if you do post back give us some more details.

well it's a nvidia 6200 agp lol i know it needs updating (nearly got the money for my 7950gt)

i have been told to use the 'DirectX Diagnositic Tool' (dxdiag.exe) and check up that acceleration DirectDraw/Direct3D enabled but these options arn't available

and at the bottom of the screen it say:
DirectDraw test results: Failure at step 5 (User verification of rectangles): HRESULT = 0x00000000 (error code)
Direct3D functionality not available. You should verify that the driver is a final version from the hardware manufacturer.

i have already updated the driver btw

uninstall the graphics card

Shut down

shut down and re-seat the graphics card, check there are no burn marks along the connections etc.

reinstall a fresh drivers

reboot

reinstall dx 9

reboot

see what happends

Right click on My Computer > Properties > Hardware > Device Manager > Display Adapters > Select gfx card > Right click > Uninstall

Make sure under the Keyboards there are no red errors or yellow ? next to the icons , also check to see that there is no sub category with the icon ?

Whats that logmein mirror driver? (ive not seen that before)

does your monitor still loose its signal?

it a program that enables you to view your computer and take control of it from another computer (www.logmein.com)

it lost it's signal once on when the computer was booting up just before the welcome screen, i saw the cursor and then it went off

some cheapy generic lcd one, you think it could be that?

oh btw i took the graphics card out and put it in my older system and i didn't get a picture at all (just said no signal) but the fans where spinning

The only time I’ve ever gotten a no signal screen was due to drivers; the graphics card installs fine and has no errors. Has this happen since you've installed new drivers or has it been an ongoing problem?

it has happened since i built this new computer (since xmas)

it used to happen ocassionally like once every month or so very rarely but i think it was due to overheating
