Solar Advice

My guess is that they would take the FIT. The problem will arise when it comes time to sell the house. You are basically "renting" out your roofspace there.

+1 this. Was strongly advised not to do this. Can be a massive problem when selling the house. Puts off buyers for one.

Spoke to the police. Nothing they can do yet as its a civil matter.

My brother rents out his roof to some solar company. He gets the free electric but none of the FIT.

Thats awful!

Thin film? Not heard of that. But 1.92kw is rubbish.

In hindsight I was I had gone bigger than 4kw myself. I know the unit rate would have been lower, costs higher. But income per year and over the 20 year life would have been better. I wish I had gone 18x 285w panels for 5.13kw

Just had a phone call from the company that quoted me £7500 as I spoke to them yesterday saying I only can afford £6500.

Salesman said he has applied 'his' staff discount onto my house because his house is not suitable for panels. Result, they can do it for £6500!!!

Tempted..

Would still need to be an EXTREMELY good system for £6500

If you get a parts break down feel free to send me a trust and i'll take a look. I still have all my research sitting on my desk.

But also try money saving expert forum. Just post saying where in the country you are and you'll get some companies to contact and try.
