Solar panel production figures

Perfect day here as well, but very cold, the heat pump used 28.85 kWh, with an average unit price costing 8.5p yesterday, that equates to £2.44 for hot water and to keep the house at a toasty 21c all day.

Battery ran out at 22:50, so ended up pulling 1 kWh at peak rate.

SolarEdge: 8.9 kWh
Garage: 3.87 kWh
North west roof: 2.02 kWh
House rear wall: 4.14 kWh
Peak power was 5.60 kW at 12:01

Total generated yesterday: 18.93 kWh
Total exported yesterday: 7.05 kWh
Total imported yesterday: 35.83 kWh

Bit late but, December 2025 = 179.3 kWh,
December 2024 was a poor 86.24 kWh.

Totals for the year.

Production: 5.77 MWh
Import: 1.62 MWh
Export: 3.52 MWh

My import is 99% on Eco 7 to charge battery overnight, hence the fairly high export ratio.

8.5 generated today.

It was actually cloudy all day but very bright due to the snow and clouds, so we beat the prediction of 2.6 by a lot. It was still generating 1.2kW 15 minutes before sunset. Never seen that before.

Just started thinking about Solar, we moved in this house in April. Our neighbours already on the solar.

What do we think in terms of this roof (south facing) in terms of potential and rough costs I should be budgeting?

As a minimum, fill the souh face, you should be able to go over those roof vents as long as there is a joist for a hanger to be screwed into betwee the 3 of them somewhere.

You could consider doing the north and west depending on costs and DNO export restrictions (no point if you are already using your whole capacity with your south array IMO).

I probably wouldn't bother with the east as that would be a 3rd set of scaffolding and probably not worth it for the small amount of panels which would fit.

As for costs, 'it depends', particularly on how much battery capacity you want/need. I'd suggest 70%-80% of daily use is suffcient.

EDIT: you are also posting in the wrong thread, repost your post here: https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/t...-real-world-recommendations.18946524/page-663
