Crappy weather and season. December is by far the worst month for me. Even with a larger system on bad days you will still generate very little so dont go in with the idea you will be generating a lot more on these bad days.

@wonko nice, the good news is it's pretty much up hill from now, the days are getting longer, so we're through the worst month almost, January is better, and February picks up quite a bit, so perfect timing.
