Sold HDD.

Hey guys hope you can help. I just sold a 2.5" sata laptop drive on an auction site. I had it connected up to my pc before hand and copied large amounts of files over to and then tested random files to make sure the drive was ok. Everything worked fine. The guy who bought it is trying to use it as his main/system drive on a laptop but he said its not working or won't setup. I know very vague. Anyway is it because in some way it has been associated with my PC and needs formatting or something. Or could it be down to his bios settings. I was connecting it up using a USB device and formatted for NTFS use.

The drive ws originally in a xbox 360 but during a failed save tranfer I killed the files that made the xbox recognise it. So I decided to format it for PC use instead.

Any help most appreciated as if he does send it back I need to be able to sell it on with out any worries.

I would suggest he does a full wipe of it using something like boot and nuke (www.dban.org), then a full format (rathen than the quick which skips checking for bad sectors).
