Sold house, buyer wants appliances...

trying it on, imo. they will just be thinking you wont bother arguing over £100 if it risks the sale. they might then say theyre pulling out as a bluff... or, if theyre bonkers actually go through with pulling out. i hate house buying / selling, once an offer is in place i think you should be contracted into agreement (subject to surveys)

Random question (but possibly relevant) Where is the buyer from? In certain countries (Canada for example) as I found out, this is actually quite normal. Part of buying the house was that we got all of the white goods (nearly brand new washer & dryer, the cooker, dishwasher) as part of the house sale. Anything they intended to take had to be specifically listed on the sale documents. As it was they were leaving the country so we got everything. I asked the realtor and he said this is normal here.

More relevant, my friend is just buying a house in the UK and she was offered various things in the house, some white goods and fittings (curtains, beds and dressers) at a low price, i presume to save the previous owners moving the stuff out for some reason.
