Sold the 40D time for a D300

if you search a certian auction site there are plenty of replacment straps on there they basically thicker & more padded the part that goes round your neck.

They also don't have big 'D300' advert plastered all over them, letting passing thieves know you've got an expensive bit of kit dangling round your neck.

PS I bought a very comfortable, anonymous strap from NO COMPETITORS - READ THE RULES. At a tenner it wasn't too much of a rip-off, and I do like to support the last significant camera retailer on the high street when I can.

Cant beat an Optech strap. Got one for my D80 and really helps since i have the battery grip fitted and when you have the SB600 on as well, there is a fair amount of weight round your neck.

Aye the Optech straps are supposed to be good. I haven't tried one as I just use the Canon 1D series straps and haven't had any problems so far.

Sorry for the error, I wasn't aware OcUK sold camera straps.

This reminds me why my post count's so low despite the fact I joined years ago. I think it might be time for another vacation. :-)

LOL don't stress about it it's hardly the end of the world! No, OcUK don't sell camera straps, but the majority of places that do will also sell cameras, which OcUK do sell.

luckily when i started down the dslr route i had no glass, i took a 10d and a d70 for a test drive and found the nikon easier to use and i thought gave a better picture.

the d70 met an untimely death, as in the BGLOG and a quick deceleration and i ended up with the d70s.

still have the d70s but also have the d300 and i love it!!!

I'd replace every bit of canon equipment I own for a Nikon D3, they're absolutely fantastic.

I'm just too heavily invested in Canon, and I regret it!

???
Nikon and Canon will spend many more years trying to compete with each other and the only people who benefit are us the customers, as they keep pushing down the prices whilst making better gear.
The D3 is brilliant for ALL of the market, for one thing it's pushing Canon et al to release their own version.
So I wouldn't worry, keep you glass, there will be something along soon capable of competing with the D3.
