Sold the Porsche, bought a Ford....

Well done! Glad you got the motor that you wanted. The external appearance isn't exactly to my taste, I'd certainly start by getting rid of the wheels (once the tyres need changing).

Gibbo's mustang was definitely one of my favourites in both look and spec... That'd be the direction I'd go.

I sort of like them to look at, but just checked the prices of them and dam, for a car that's the equivalent of a Mondeo ST or something (just a normal regular car over in usa) there quite pricey. Especially when you compare the prices of them to things like monaros

This will be my daily, but I hardly do more than 5k a year anyway so the mpg isn't really an issue.

The driveway is being done eventually, it's our first house and we've only been in 3 months!

The Mustang was less than you would think due to the 'high' miles (not many tend to get used as daily drives for obvious reasons). I ended up paying £11.5k which is very cheap for a V8 GT, others up for sale at the moment have been sitting around £14k but not selling quickly.

Ideally the black wheels would come off, I'd get a few tiny marks touched up and the stripes re-doing. The brakes feel awful compared to the Boxster so I'm bound to swap those over and then start doing a few easy bolt on power mods before deciding to supercharge or not. Nothing too soon though.

As previously mentioned I've always dreamt of owning one and I'm glad I've been able to now.

Oooh looks tasty mate :) Get some more pics up :) Interior too ... And a vid :p
Alloys aint that bad, whats the standard ones look like?
What size are the alloys? I'm sure I recognise them, not a clue where from tho :/

Quite a good price. I'm not too keen on the steering wheel being on the wrong side though, that must really limit overtaking opportunities :(

Yeah surely that must be weird to get used to.

Really nice motor tho, congrats :)

The current black alloys are 18" 'Borbet' which I've never heard of either, standard 17" Ford alloys look like THESE.

I'm getting use to LHD a lot quicker than I expected, being a manual has probably forced me to pay extra attention. A few junctions have been made nearly impossible due to the blacked out rear windows (which I may take off) but aside from that I've not had any real problems.

In terms of LHD hindering the ability to overtake - it's not impossible, and the car has enough power to make life easier but to be honest aside from on duel carriageways and motorways I don't really tend to overtake much.

Video of the exhaust and sound to come next week as I'm off work.

Yeah wheels back to silver will certainly make the car stand out more, refresh it.

My uncle bought his brand new, used it for a year then got posted to afghan, then straight to Germany from there and his mustang was stood for 2 years on my nanas drive. Poor thing! Bonnet and the roof started to rust really bad! Which was odd for such a new car. Sold it for £9k to his mate. £14k less than he bought it for 3 years earlier.

Just a little story! Keep an eye on the bonnet and roof. Get them wheels silver!

I approve. Some money your way is a nice bonus too.

Whilst some may see as a downgrade I would be more inclined to say that it is so different to the Boxster that its a solid choice based on that alone. And if youre happy then that's all that matters really.

I can see the mustang being much less likely to throw a big bill. Gibbo is always harping on about how reliable and easy to work on

Would be interested to hear of your progress with it and how you get on with costs and such.
