** Soldier of Fortune: Payback **

real shame they messed this up, the first two were really good games, this is just pathetic.

Maybe if there was a large community patch for it which gave graphics options and fixed bugs and things and improved gameplay, then maybe it would work, but whos gonna bother?

This is more of a joke than that Soldner game, and that's really saying something!

The thing is I REALLY don't understand why they felt the need to bring this game out now:

1) The market is flooded with quality titles and big-name sequels and brought out for the holiday season.
2) Heck, it's not even like this game is going to be top of the shopping list for parents buying their kids games due to the content and reputation of the series
3) SoF is a big enough franchise that they could have got away with releasing it in, say, Spring and still sold quite a few copies off the name, and fact that there would likely be very little competition in terms of big releases. That would also have given them time to complete it without it appearing so rushed, which seems to be the general consensus.

maybe the developer ran out of money and decided to release what they've done so far, or rushed to finish it on a small budget

it was very suprising how quiet they kept it

The strange thing is that the only other title I've played from Cauldron (Chaser) definitely wasn't rushed. It's a massive game with well over 30 levels and extensive cutscenes.

I liked Soldner when it came out, few years later I play it again and its crap. Instead, I go out and buy Arma and that seems even worse!

reading all the bad review, sounds just like the originals, they were pretty pants in terms of gameplay, but were voilent, so they did well

the first two games were cack, just violent, more of the same, but competing against games which are a lot more developed

Except they were good and enjoyable and not crap, this one is not any of those things, the gameplay was amazing because of the violence.

Chaser was a great game. I might have to re install it. Multiplayer was good too

the first two games were very good, fun to play, not just because of violence, i liked the odd purposeful kneecap but really i just shot people but the range of deaths was good as it felt more realistic than most games. but also sof2 multiplayer was insanely good, great maps, balanced and incredibly fun to play, wide range of styles of maps too. big outside, office style. it was brilliant.

shame the third installment has turned into such a complete waste. oh well :(

jesus, they could probably have redone the 2nd game with updated graphics/textures without too much effort. still want to play some sof2 online but no one plays anymore. if updated gfx got some people playing it would have been great.
