Can anyone recommend a most reliable and robust USB3.0 memory stick, perhaps at 32Gb or 64Gb?

Some people advise against saving family photos/videos on USB sticks and recommends saving them on HDDs or SSDs. Some even advises to save it on CD or DVDs.

Now, I know these are good backup advice, but I can always buy two USB memory sticks, one for back up and one for regular use, etc. Thing is, I heard that USB sticks sometimes fails and unable to read/write to them. That is very worrying.

Your thoughts?

They're disposable and built down to a tiny price. USB memory sticks are not a backup strategy.

At the very least keep your valuable data on two different forms of "backup" media and keep a set offsite. No point backing it up if it's taken out in the same fire/flood/act of god that affects your computer.

Use the cloud, Google Drive, Dropbox anything like that, but as well as a USB Stick and/or CD/DVD.

I have some files that I have in the Cloud, USB and multiple HDDs.

I would never say to someone "don't store photos on that"

What I'd advise is "store photos in as many locations as possible"

Never trust a single data store.
