I have a 40GB SSD i use as the primary drive on my system. When installed windows 7 it used up about 29Gb if memory serves me correctly. I have had it about a year now and slowly but surely my free space has beaten away.

I have deleted/uninstalled just about everything i can and am stuck now with about 350mb free space left!

I am thinking it is windows update that is robbing me of all my space, would this be a correct assumption?

Would there be a way of correcting this (say, install a service pack which would allow me to delete all updates up to that point, for example)?

Are there any hidden folders that i should look at emptying?

I dont have the restore settings on.

Or do i bite the bullet and fork out for another SSD?

cheers in advance

Done both those, will see how i get on with it. is there anything particular i should be looking out for/wary of? Will i see a change in any performance?

thanks for the help
