Solution for coil whine

I've discovered a cure for coil whine - get old!

My teenage sons complained about the awful high-pitched whine coming from my computers but I'm pleased to report that I can't hear it at all

Another cure is tinnitus although I don't recommend that one!

That works. Also undervolting, but not as well as an FPS cap.

Not sure the PSU makes much difference really, unless it's the PSU itself buzzing.

Noise cancelling headphones is the normal solution.

He's right, having a PSU from a another SKU for example, and I recall specifically, going from a Corsair PSU to a EVGA PSU of the same wattages IE: 850W or so reduced coil whine considerably.
No, it's not from the the PSU but something about the PSU effecting the video card.
However, after all this time, your mileage may vary.

I do recall folk complaining about it having a Corsair PSU for some reason though. Not always mind you.

I can relate to that lol....so now I just use headphones or nod and say yep you're right
