Hi all,

In the past week or so, I've been having some difficulty shutting my computer off at the end of each day. No matter if I reset, shut down or anything, it brings up the "Shutting Down" screen, with the spinning circle, and just sits there. I can move my mouse off my main screen and see it moving about on my other 2 screens while this happens. If I leave it a while (around half an hour), it starts back up and says "Windows has recovered from a failed shut down" or similar.

I've tried running Anti-virus, I've tried running CCleaner and disk cleanup etc. but as of yet nothing. Only thing I can think of now is to do a system restore and go back to some time last week/month.

Anyone know any other options? Specs are in my signature (I think)

Thanks all.

Try booting your pc without HDD (unless your OS is on it) and then see if it shuts down properly.

I have the OS on my SSD, so I'm assuming you mean disable the storage drive from the boot sequence?

it appears bsod?
if yes disable one peripheral (mouse, wi fi adapter, mouse printer) on at the time to find about, if no try it, it doesn't cost anything

I've never had a BSOD no, although this has only happened since I installed my Corsair headset, so you may be on to something there.

but disconnect all the peripheral, close all the programs, and see whatt happens, i recommend just let the keyboard.
also see if can shut-down on safe mode

It seems some sort of problem lies with my headset. I tried uninstalling it, but the uninstall won't run. I tried uninstalling the drivers from the Device Manager, and it just freezes, I can't reinstall the drivers, I can't uninstall what is already there, and I can't uninstall the program that came with the headset.

Looks like I'm gonna have to restore my computer all because of a headset.

First try uninstalling all of that while in safe mode (not sure if this will help)

and like you said try a System Restore back just before your installed the headset.

Have you tried Driver Sweeper ?
Some people dont like using it, but man did it help me when trying to remove all of my AMD drivers.
