Hi there, hopefully I will be recieving a 7800GTX tommorow or tuesday so before I get it installed I wanna check a few things :)

Whats the most stable Drivers for them atm?
Whats Safe temps for these to run at?
Whats best program for overclocking these?

and finally is there any pointers of how to get the most out of it.

Haven't owned an Nvidia card for over a year (apart from my ti4200) so not as clued up on these as I once was.

Thx for any help you can give :)

The 84.24 drivers are fine, a friend of mine uses them on a pair of 7800gtxs. Not sure about temps, but probably something in the 65-75 region under load is about right with the stock cooler. The simplest overclocking programme is Coolbits. On some card Coolbits can't overclock as much as the card can, but the 7800gtx will not reach the maximum that coolbits has to offer.

Is there any auto detecting overclock programs for Nvidia?

ie: ones that find max safe overclock for you like ATI have
ATITool 0.25 Beta 14. Quote, 'Added support for NVIDIA video cards'. Whether it works the same way, I don't know cos own an ATI card :)

Down load the latest nvidia from their website, install coolbits, theres an option to check highest overclock, and do it every time windows starts.
Using it now and all is good....
