Some advice please gents

Hey people,

I very interested in some of the newer games coming out this year and would like some upgrade advice.

I currently have a

msi k8n moterboard

amd fx-55 san dieigo cpu ( i think, it was £600 when it was new)

2 gig of matched ram, i think its pc3200, is there an easy way to tell?

xfx geforce 6800 ultra 512meg pci-e

Now this was about the best i could get when it was new and i understand its all a few years old now,

does this system have any life left in it with a new gfx card? if so what would be a good option?

Or is it a case of its all past its sell by date?

Yeah, a new graphics card would breathe new life into the system. I suggest an 8800 GT.

You can tell what speed the RAM is, usually, by reading a sticker on the side of each module. PC3200 is a good bet. 2 GiB is still enough for most games. It'll do just fine until you upgrade again.
