Some advice please

hi,

It’s been a while, I used to game a LOT but in recent years I haven’t. I have the bug again and as always it started off being a simple upgrade.

I have an I7 2600k and thought I’d just buy a new GPU maybe a 1060 and be done with it. Then realised my CPU would be a bottleneck so started looking at a new chip. I’ve always been an intel fan but the prices have really escalated. So that’s my first dilemma.

Also I have an HP 2475 ips monitor which I love, however I’ve now realised that a new 4K monitor is also needed.

So..... who has done a similar upgrade? What have you got to tell me? Do you see my confusion? Things have changed so much!

Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Basically around a grand. Current monitor is 1080.

Would rather do it all in one go, so many options

You think that a 1060 wouldn’t run at 4K without some stuff turned off?

I think I need to study some more, all I wanted to do was buy a GFX card hahaha

Thanks a lot, I think I’m gonna just do the gpu For now and see how it goes. Been watching some bf1videos of people with 1060 and 2600k and it looks good enough

Thanks for all your replies and advice, Got a 1060 and a couple of SSD’s in RAID and overclocked the CPU to 4ghz and the RAM up too.

It’s pretty fast and now I’ve ironed our the bugs I’m beginning the journey again.
