Some help guys regarding small upgrade for Battlefield 3

Spec:

AM3 Phenom X4 955 3.2
Zalman CNPS10X-Quiet CPU Cooler
4GB Corsair Memory DDR3 1600 (2 x 2gb)
500GB SATA Hard Drive
AM3 MSI 770-C45 - DDR3 1600x4 770-C45 chipset
ATI HD 5770
1001 Black Midi Gaming Case 3 Temp LCD Displays
Cooler Master 500W PSU

Having tested B3 Beta, stating the obvious the 5770 is pretty poor by itself, so was looking into getting a ATI Radeon HD 6870 as seems nice upragde and will run this game semi decent.

I just wanted to make sure the 500W PSU is fine, ive had a quick look and power usage seems sim to HD 5770, and i only really want to upgrade the CPU.

Would this be fine.

Change the PSU and the 5770, thats it.

I assume thats a elite500 PSU? these are near their limit with a 5770,

No not a elite, ive had no issues running the 5770 on the Coolermaster. Are you sure i need to upgrade it, artcile says a 500W is advised for the card. :confused:

Thank you, would it be good or bad if it was the Extreme model. I got abit confused with the model names.

Well i looked at a review and the conclusion is a bit poor, they say it can deliver its power at a certain load, but cant recommended it possibly due to the electrical noise above maximum at 80% load or higher,
