Hi all,

I have this board and have just started overclocking it. I am using an E2180 cpu and 4gb geil black dragon 4-4-4-12 ram.

At the moment I have the 2 sticks of ram in the yellow slots, but cpu-z says it is running at 2T command rate. Is this right? I thought it should be 1T for 2 sticks dual channel? I can't see where I can change this in the bios.

I have my cpu at 2.7 at the moment, with the ram running at 812mhz at 4-4-4-12. I want to push the cpu to at least 3ghz but was wondering if I should leave the fsb strap to auto, or if I should manually change this to as low as possible?

For most of the other settings I am leaving them on auto, I know this isn't really the best, but are there any that really shouldn't be on auto?

Thanks,

Daven

2T is normal for DDR2 at 800mhz. I can't remember there being an option to change it to 1T.

The FSB strap shouldn't really matter. You can leave it on Auto and select the memory ratio that best suites your memory.

The options to take off auto are the main chipset voltages. Set PLL, FSB Term/VTT and NB to atleast 0.02v above the stock setting (1.52v, 1.22v and 1.12v).

Stock would be 1.50v, 1.20v and 1.10v, but the P5Q range are known to seriously over-volt them if left on auto or the stock setting.

What you actually set them to depends on your overclock. Just don't leave them on auto or stock.

thanks for the warning.

i will set the cpu to 1.325 too i guess, as i have noticed that is sometimes getting overvolted, it is at 1.344 according to cpu-z at the moment.

Well yeah always take the CPU voltage off auto. It's something that should always be set manually, no matter which motherboard you are using.

i have it at 3ghz at the moment, with the memory running at 800mhz.

i am going to make the changes you suggested but i am happy with it at the moment and probably won't go for a higher clock until i really need it.
