I recently built a Pc to the spec:

Gigabyte GA-EP43-S3L Intel P43 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 LGA775 'Wolfdale' 2.80GHz (1066FSB)
XFX ATI Radeon HD 4850 "XXX Edition" 512MB
CORSAIR MEMORY 4GB TWINX XMS2 6400 C5 DDR2 5-5-5-18 800MHZ
OCZ PSU 700SXS STEALTHXSTREAM 700W
MICROSOFT WINDOWS VISTA HOME PREMIUM 64BIT OEM
SEA GATE BARRACUDA hard disk
Coolmaster 335 case

At first all was going well. I was playing crysis on High and it was running well. I then tried the ATI Overdrive feature to see it I could improve the performance at a higher setting. The game and computer crashed immediately. I restarted and after turning off the overdrive, reinstalling crysis as it was not booting, and reinstalling the ATI drivers to reset everything I had done. I proceeded to play again. However now after playing for a little time the computer crashes leaving either a blank screen or green lines and the sound repeating. It only seems to happen on one particular level, although I have not extensively tested this.

I was wondering if I may have damaged my graphics card or if despite reinstalling the drivers there is a problem with the configuration and if there is a way to test for failure. Would reinstalling windows and all the drivers resolve the issue?

I know this is all very vague but any insight would be very helpful. I would just like to add i was very impressed with the delivery and service I received got my goods the next day. Keep it up overclockers, defo use you again.

Thanks

Unlikely that you have trashed your videocard using ATI Overdrive.
Reinstalling windows and all the drivers would narrow down the problem. In the interim ensure you have completely uninstalled all the ATI drivers before re-installing, check you dont have antivirus running in the background during this process. If you can do the uninstallation in SAFEMODE even better.

Thanks. I did reinstall the ati drivers but had avg on. I take it this makes a big difference. I will give it another go disabling avg and let you know how that goes. Thanks

Really!!! Tell us something we don't know. That is why after all the hype everybody is starting to realise how much that engine hates all computers!

Likewise, tell us something we don't know. People aren't "just starting to realise", Crysis was released in 2007.

Just out of interest, what happened for you to draw the conclusion that Warhead is "buggy"? No Google search results allowed.
