Hey guys,

Long time no post in this subsection, so I thought I'd post a few of what I consider to be my strongest images to date, with a slight portrait bias:

The first 3 are all nice enough but 4 stands out the most from the portraits.

The car and landscape look a little over processed ('HDR'?) although they are nicely composed.

The Tiger is cool but the OOF wire fence is a bit distracting.

The last two are nice, the cheerleader because...well...just look at her would you! lol. And the timing is great on the last one.

Number 4 is my favourite of the lot, nicely done.

That's the two prior to processing....i personally think the landscape looks a bit more balanced after HDR?

Also what do you mean by 9 was shot too early alexisonfire? :p

Tom.

Neither shot contains a high dynamic range, they are both pretty well exposed to start with (well the sky is washed out a bit in the car shot but its not major enough to ruin the shot) so I'd just try normal processing methods on them. Given the HDR treatment they just look like you've played with filters.

quick question

lovely shots

are all of the shots (bar the HDR ones obv.) like they were straight out of the CCD

or have they been tweaked slightly in photoshop ?

not much tweaking bar the one of my gf, i darkened the background quite a lot, why do you ask? :)

because for the love of trying i cant get my photos to look anything like that

even in perfect lighting

i was wondering if they were that bit more vivid for having had a few photoshop tweaks applied

my efforts

like i said, despite being in full sunlight, they arent nearly as vidid.

granted im using a point and shoot, but people allways say its the photographer, not the camera.

MrLOL - AFAIK taking photographs when its brightest, isn't going to give you the best photos. If anything they will be less vivid and often hazy. (someone correct me if im wrong :) )

Is this the type of effect you were after? Im not sure if i took it too far though...

mr lol also to be noted is a lot of people posting here use raw and while there are no photoshop tweaks applied the brightness / contrast / saturation etc are tweaked at the raw import level giving more vivid pictures
