Some one stole my NC10 out of my car, is it traceable

Someone stole my NC10 from my car today.
Could this be traced by the mac address if someone uses it on the net.
I dont know it, but Samsung might from the serial number, that must be on the documentation, if that is possible.

well was on private property in my friend workshop no one around so didn't think to.

to what end, if someone in this area orders a power supply would be worth following up with police having the info
have house insurance so might be covered

I think sellers would be obliged to the police though.

Your wrong as my mum had her watch stolen and got it back as it was pawned, they where obliged to reveal the details of the person who took it in.
He is now gonna appear in court for the theft.
Obviuosly in my case no, but it was worth a try appealing to the shop owners better nature.
