Some overclocking help!

Hi guys ive tried overclocking my core i7 920 but its failing could i get a little more help please.

Spec
Asus p6t se
geil pc1800mhz
i7 920

Temps are fine everyone is telling me to go for 4ghz but i was thinking of 3.6ghz then working my way up any help would be good thanks.

Yeah its just a new 920 all settings at defautlt atm was looking for a decent guide, im using a coolit domio temps are 37 idle at default.

Ive got it running at 4ghz need to make sure its stable what sort of temps will i look out for and will i use prime95? long will i test it for?

Its generally reccomended to run p95 for 8 hours or so to test stability, as for temps, this will depend on your cooling but ive noticed that i7's tend to run pretty hot.

I personally would use LinX as it tend to be better for testing i7'2.

use LinX for quick testing and tweaking then finish off with Prime
