Some problems with BF3

So as of now (and also since I've started playing), I've been having a few issues with Battlefield 3.

First of all, I'm having some serious jittering problems when in game. With all of the settings on the minimum they could possibly be, and resolution set to 1366x768, my FPS is in the 30-50 range, even sometimes dropping in the 20s depending on what map and player size is present. However the FPS is not the main issue, as has been established when I posted in the BF3 thread that a dual-core CPU is not recommended for BF3.

The issue is however, that when my FPS is in the high numbers, I am getting jittering every second or two, constantly, every game. MSI Afterburner doesn't seem to notice this and continues to display high FPS, with no drops at all.

Some research suggests this could be a problem with my PSU but it is brand new (less than three weeks old), and also 100W/150W above the recommended wattage PSU according to AMD website and OcUK store respectively.

Previously I was using the 11.12 drivers and then switched to the 12.1a drivers to see if it would solve the problem and it hasn't.

Secondly, I seem to be having some huge problems actually getting into the game, this issue started today. Whenever I try to join a server, BF3 opens, then closes around 10 seconds later, and I am greeted on Battlelog with a "you were kicked from the game" or "you have been disconnected from the EA servers" message. This has been happening with every server I have tried to join, so please don't try and tell me every single server I've tried to join has kicked me for absolutely no reason.

Deleting and reinstalling BF3 seemed to work for a game or two, a few hours ago, until I tried again just now. This issue also occurs for servers that do not have Punkbuster active, so that removes PB from potential problems.

Is there any solutions to the problems I am experiencing?

Had similar stutter, turned out I was using generic windows mouse drivers instead of the drivers supplied by coolermaster for my mouse.

As for disconnects try fiddling with the UPNP settings on you're router, mine likes to be disabled, some others like it enabled.

I'm using a crappy mouse from my local supermarket (a 'Texet' mouse to be specific) and it seems they don't have the drivers for said mouse on their website, which is strange. So the only option I really have is to use generic windows mouse drivers.

As for the log in issue, for some reason it's letting me join games now. This game is being very temperamental today.

Is your CPU overclocked? If so, take it back to stock and see if the problem persists.

Yes my CPU was overclocked. Put the CPU back to stock clocks and fortunately for some reason this has lessened the problem. It happens a lot less frequently now making me able to kill someone who is 10+ metres away :D, thanks!

Could it be lag related?

Doubt it. The game is running above 30fps and all of the games I join are >50 ms ping.

As a side note, tried a few fixes such as disabling origin overlay, a few console commands, and turning sensitivity up/down and none of them seemed to work before I put CPU back to stock clocks.

When i had 4 GB ram i was on the limit for what the game wanted added to the rest of my system. by the way, your sig is to big.

Just came here to moan about BF3 actually. Bought it a few days ago and there's one really annoying problem. I keep getting stuck on the loading screen in between rounds when playing online - the screen that's completely black apart from "LOADING" in the bottom right. Is there a fix for this? I've tried repairing the install through Origin and it's still happening

Glad to hear it. I had to do the same with my AMD quad. For some strange reason the game does not appear to like OC'd AMD chips.

Your best bet, if you have the money, is to get hold of a quad which will slot straight in. 955 is a good bet though they are getting hard to find.

I get the same problem. I did a repair install which helped (right click bf3 on origin. Not sure why this happens for some of us and not others but it's a small problem I can live with.
