Hi all

I've noticed some sort of fluid appearing on my rear tyres, I had the same on my old car but never found out what it was?

Any ideas please??

Thank you

isnt brake fluid acutally sweet and thats why you shouldnt leave any around as kids and animals drink it.
I think that's screenwash isn't it? Maybe it's your blinker fluid leaking. If it was brake fluid, I'd expect sone sort of residue on the alloy around it, isn't brake fluid quite corrosive too so they should be something.

Most brake fluids contain diethylene glycol (DEG). DEG has a sweet taste making it attractive to children and pets. DEG poisoning does not produce a lot of initial symptoms but it can cause substantial kidney damage.

If it was brake fluid, why is it on the tyre and not the wheel?
Take the wheel off and you'll soon know if it's brake fluid because it'll be everywhere inside the wheel and all over the caliper.

My money is on dog pee tbh.

Rear shock absorber can leak into the wheel, not sure you'd see it on the front of the tyre but something to check.

My first thought was cat / dog pee :p

I had a mysterious liquid appearing on the front of my first Smart car, turned out to be cat pee. Cats can’t get down to the car park now as they’ve put a door in the way.

I get it all the time on my van. Then when I get to another location. Same again. I see them bee lining for it as soon as I get out
