Some Stunning Photography

Lots of Helicopter shots there.

Reminds me of an photography exhibition just outside the science museum 3 years ago. There were images in a very similar vein.

Gobsmacking!

Thats a larger format for you :)

Check out the cars parked in the livingrooms in the last one. Devastating.
LOL they're where the garages used to be. Still devastating, though.

There are some excellent images in there. I got a 50 pack of postcards called Earthsong from Blackwells (I think), which has some of those photos in. Used it to cover one of my walls at uni ... better than magnolia, for sure!

Some of those are awesome. I was wondering how people go about helicopter photography. Surely they want a large depth-of-field (like landscapes), so a smaller aperture is needed. But that would bump up the shutter speed and when your sitting in a vibrating/moving helicopter i'm guessing that isnt ideal

How is it done?

By attaching a very expensive gyro unit to the base of the camera. Keeps the horizon level and eliminates practically all vibration. I see something on telly a few years back concerning this. Very cool..

Cheers for the link RandomTom !
