Hi ALl

I'm at work at the moment, and for the last two days I've noticed that some website are just completely refusing to load while others are working fine. It's not the content filtering that is in place because that throws up a message explaining why it's blocked, this is just pages not loading.

A couple of perfectly innocent websites that don't load:

http://www.mission.co.uk/
http://www.rel.net

This is using IE8, fully updated as far as i'm aware.

I've also tried it using a portable version of firefox on my liberkey but won't load in that either...

The pages were working fine for me at home yesterday so don't think it's the pages, any ideas what else it might be?

Could be DNS, or possibly an MTU style issue?

Have you tried testing it with some public DNS servers? maybe 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4?

Trouble is being at work I can't tinker with any of the DNS settings etc sadly. Got someone one a different pc to try those two websites and they didn't load for them either, so guess problem is network realted rather than being something to do with my pc.

Guess I'll have to speak to IT department...

You could test using Firefox with a proxy. You'll need to tell FF to use the proxy for DNS requests. Might be worth posting a couple of traceroutes.
