Right I've been thinking about building a budget gaming system for ages, and it will be my 1st ever build (I've never changed anything in any computer) so its going to be hard and I'm hoping to get any advice i can just to give me a push to do it... I literally have added components for a full PC so many times and backed out at the last second its impossible to count this is what I'm stuck on so far...

-My idea is an AMD quad core CPU, but theirs so many motherboards i have no idea where to start in choosing one and if my CPU would even be compatible.

-Case's... I was looking at the bitfenix prodigy and its a gorgeous looking thing but it says only ITX motherboards will fit, but is a ITX motherboard good enough for what i want out of my PC (medium to high graphics on games such as Black ops 2, Arma 2,3)

-HDD,SSD's... i was fancying a 60gb ssd and a 320gb+ HDD but what RPM will i need on my HDD if its just for storing music photos and movies?

....I know theirs a lot of answers to be given here but any help will be... well helpfull and i'm thankfull for it all.

Just a quick edit my budget it £400, i know its not a lot but i dont want my 1st build to be a £2000 beast and me to go mess it up, also i already have a great keyboard, mouse and monitor just my tower is outdated :(

thanks a lot honosuseri, would i need any fans to mount on the case or would i run quite cool anyway? (im not planning to overclock anything i think it will be good enough for what ill use it for)

AMD seem cheaper :S im fresh to all this lol is intel better? i mean for what i want to use it for the amd a10-5800k seemed best choice (i play a lot of arma 2 and COD series)

I'm quite confident in the actual build part its just the choosing of what to build with... so confusing with the amount of choice and knowing what is compatible with what! :S hurts my head

saying that^ i just looked at a youtube vid of the bitfenix and hell, it looks like a task... i dont think you can fit a larger gpu in it if you have a hdd...

slightly retarded question but... will i need a wifi card with that amd build hono suggested as my office is the other end of the house to my modem

not gunna lie... i didn't understand that thread, im running chrome though and it says there's an extension where would i find that?

Right, thanks a lot you lot I'm pleased to announce I've placed my order lol.. such a horrible moment... if this goes boobs up im coming for you hono...

I've gone with what you suggested at first with the amd only change i made was the case ( i went with orange it looks nicer IMO and it was slightly cheaper.)

its just a waiting game now with it been christmas and all :D!
