Something different!! How low can you go in 05?

Hi guy's, something i found over at the OCW forums . They are running a comp to see who can score the lowest in 3Dmark05 and the winners will win a 8500, 8600GT or 8600GTS card. It has to be using a graphics card. No onboard graphics. Full rules are in the link.

I have nothing to do with this and have no involvement. I just thought it may be a chance for someone on the forums to try for a freebie. If someone else has posted this, sorry and a mod can delete it.

Be warned though, the lowest score so far is 12!!! :eek:

i have an ATi Rage 128, but i doubt it would let me load 3d mark 05

might try it on my old computer with MX440 and run the disk defragmenter in the background while leaving a hd movie running

It looks like underclocking IS allowed as the 3rd lowest score is from an underclocked rig.

This sets a new precedent for this forum. How low can you clock your rig instead of how high!!

Get downclocking guys. I suppose i have no chance with this rig. Might have to get a crappy old graphics card from the bay for my internet rig.

If only I could get '05 going on my Voodoo 3... Don't think I could use my low clocked passive MX440 as it's an AGP 2X slot.

Anyone with a PCI FX5200 will be laughing for this one.

Lol, someone masking the quads on their 7800GTX and downlocking it to 14mhz.... Might give that a shot if I can get a hold of my pc.

cant use PCI.

You must use a CPU, mainboard and external VGA card (PCIe or AGP). Use only APPROVED DRIVERS FOR YOUR TEST.

PCI cards are OK. So long it is a DX9 (otherwise how will 3dmark05 ever run).

I have a 9200se sitting around somewhere also, hmmmmmmm this is tempting, just make sure its the minimum ram also and underclock for fun
