something 'fun' for £2000?

MX5 was my first thought too, but i can imagine being battered about on the motorway and the engine being quite highly strung at motorway speeds. Also i've always lumped removeable roofs in with too much wind noise.

This. I'm a most unlikely advocate of Fiat in general but I really enjoyed my brief spell of Coupe ownership before I improved the styling with the aid of a tree.

£2k should get a reasonable one. Expect it to go wrong though :).

Edit: 20v Turbo of course. It's not worth putting up with the Fiatness of it for anything less.

have looked at Fiat Coupes and am tempted, 240bhp standard in the 20vt iirc.

a def 'no' on the 106 GTI.. whilst i know it'd handle better than what i have now - i don't want another tiny hatch with a nippy engine in it!
 
I'm currently hunting in the exact same market as you Gex, a couple of cars on my list are on yours, MX5 and MR2, reckon a turbo is possible in budget?
 
i like the thought of a turbo/super charged MX5, probably not in initial budget..but it could be added later.

MR2.. i'm not sure about, the sub 2k turbos i've seen looked a bit ropey
 
I'm also in a similar boat :D

I can't decide between the MX-5 and 172, both have their strengths and weaknesses

Can anyone explain/show me a link explaining all the differences between MX-5's? I assume the UK spec's are cheaper to insure, how do the Euno's differ?
