Well built my new rig the other day all has been fine used it today all was good decided to play bf was working perfectly then boom pc turns it self of. Now when I turn it on it just turns itself off again made it to desktop once but it turned itself off again. I've checked my cpu cooler and that's in fine so shouldn't be overheating :-/ the green light on my mobo is on if that means anything.
Any input would be greatly appreciated my psu is 500W so maybe it's being pushed to its limit I'm not sure :(

Your PSU isn't very good, I have the same one. Your GPU, according to techspot, can draw almost 300w in power on full load. That's a lot. Your PSU won't be outputting 500w like stated, it'll be outputting around 400w (20% is lost to heat). I'd say it's the PSU.

Before acting, I'd let others chime in as I'm no expert. ;)

EDIT: If you get another PSU avoid Corsair and look at "EVGA", "Superflower" and "Seasonic". They're the best currently.

I was thinking that but next pay day I was either gonna sli or get the 970 if it doesn't sky rocket in price.

Well the RM850 is certainly better than corsairs builder series PSU's. More efficient, and probably more reliable.

If you're planning to sli the gtx660 get the 850, if you're planning to sli the 970gtx you'll probably get away with a 750w. ;)

The best option would be to get a Superflower unit - Don't bother with the Corsair unless you're prepared to splash out on the AX models.

I believe OCUK are the only place that stocks Superflower in the UK so not likely he'll get one at a local store :p Should just take your advice and order one from here though.

Even though the CX500 is a poor psu and only has 408w or 456w (depending on the version) on the 12v rail it should be able to power your pc with a bit of headroom left over unless it's faulty. The pc in my siggy pulls a max of 422w at the wall while gaming and I can't see yours coming near that.

What ssd do you have?
You don't mention whether or not your 8320 is OC'ed.
Did you test your system was stable, before jumping straight into BF4?
How much ram are you using and have you tried with one stick?

My cpu is not overclocked I have 16gb of ram. My ssd is an ocz one I bought a new power supply yesterday and it worked for about 2 hours and then it just happened again what could it be this is quite frustrating

It is posting and booting btw but then it just turns itself off. Surely it couldn't be down to heat I have 6 fans and a h100i so should be fine I mean when it was working corsair link was picking up temps of around 17-25 degrees when just using the Internet etc but still ot turns off.

A GTX 660 won't draw anywhere near 300w, I run two and an i7 easily with a 650w psu, but I agree that PSU is one of the cheaper corsair ones so I'd say there is something wrong with it.

Take out all but one stick of ram. If it works then it could be faulty ram or you may need more voltage for the chipset to be able to run 4 sticks (unless you have 2x8Gb sticks). If a single stick works check all of them individually. Also check the bios to make sure no auto overclocking is enabled. If it does work with a single stick it's worth updating to the latest bios too. Just download the latest bios to a usb stick and use ez-flash in the bios.

Have you checked the temps in the BIOS? The temps you quote are way too low - it could be the H100i isn't making good contact.
