Something like Apple's Time Capsule

I have an external harddrive and a router that has a USB 2.0 port. I'd like to setup something like Apple's Time Capsule.

Can anyone direct me in the right direction?
 
I remember looking into this. I concluded Oops Backup was by far my favourite. I think they re-named it recently. The UI isn't really my taste, but the functionality seemed to be best-in-class.
 
I have a spare PC just lying around that I could potential set up as a NAS if people think that may be the best idea?
 
Can you not just use Microsoft's built in backup utility?

Just point it to to the networked HDD and it will backup your data whenever you shedule it to.
