BTW, that quote from Soros is more than a year old. Don't hold your breath for WWIII just yet.

China have been in their best position in years by fighting a good economic and trade battle. They probably have had better relations with the US since the crash than they have done in a while.

There is no reason for them to turn to military conflict all of a sudden, it would be a stupid move. Plenty of reason to throw weight around when other parties either cant compete or wont escalate to a conflict though.
