something strange going on

just bought an i5 2500k of mm because mine broke and go to play bf3 and the cpu is running at 100% constant with only 1 6850 (other is being rma'd) with my old one it used to run 30-50%

any ideas why?

Edit : oh yeh I did a virus scan and its all clean running win8

hmmm turn off the 4.4ghz oc and it runs 40-65%

Are you sure it's not suffering from thermal throttling? If an Intel chip gets too hot it inserts delay commands into the pipeline to slow the chip down, which may result in this behaviour. Try using this tool:

It will tell you if such throttling is indeed occurring.

Running it under a phanteks ph14 dosnt go about. 45c load :/
