Something that controls media players in back grounds?

Hi, i often put music on backgrounds while playing games and when ever it comes across a music i dont want to hear i either put up with it for minimize game.

so i wonder, is there such hardwear or software that will allow me to skip or control music when game is still active on screen?

or

can you connect another screen that will show the music list?
