Anyone reccomend any good popular mmorpgs to play rather than WoW, ive got guild wars and played loads of that and expansions too.

LOTRO just felt like wow and i dont think i can run it too well on this current laptop (although getting my full spec pc back soon).

So any other suggestions?

thanks

Try Eve Online. It's very comprehensive and deep, and also a very different experience to the usual. You can get a 14 day trial from the official website and it's worth checking out.

While Eve is a great game, it has a learning curve which is near vertical, plus it takes at least a month or two until you can really get into any decent content.

Dungeons & Dragons Online is now free and has enjoyed a new lease of life since it went free to play. Other than that, City of Heroes/Villains is a good laugh if you want something fairly casual.

Fallen Earth's pretty good. It's huge, active and you can ride horses and motorcycles... Not the be-all and end-all but pretty cool. Plus it has a great crafting system.

Blizzard invented mmos, wow is the first and greatest mmo ever. everything else is just a poor copy.

WoW grabs pretty much anything worthwhile and does their best to change it into their own, like the Witch King got renamed the Lich King. The games good, but it takes a lot of things from other sources to make it so.

If you havn't tried wow in teh last 2days If i was you i'd come back in the next 2 months the whole game is ebing redesigned, and its looking dam good, and nothing like WOTLK was.

Blizzard Entertainment announced World of Warcraft on September 2, 2001.[7]
RuneScape is a fantasy massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) released in January 2001 by Andrew and Paul Gower,[2]

Not saying either are the first, there are probably ones before both.

WoW is definitely not the first MMO ever.
