A bit of context here.
Recently I've been recieving calls from the emergency sercies line saying I've phone them on my smartphone and i swear i have not dialled 999, I turned my pnone on before and got told I'd doal l999 and i didn't touch te emergency call icon.
Anybody know what's going on becuase i swear have not made any calls to 999?

There are several different implementations.
This, also it could’ve been an auto dialler that scammers use to dial a phone number range at random, they’ll program random numbers into them as calling line IDs to get around anonymous call reject and could’ve used your number.

This is exactly what's happened to me, I had four of five calls this week from people going "I had a missed call from this number" and I've definitely not called them.

My Youngest daughter had the same thing with her Samsung mobile, even though she'd supposedly turned the feature off she was called by the 999 service to see why she was constantly ringing them.

The Apple watch is also really bad for auto dialing 999 if you wear gloves they can push against it side button which then makes it call 999
( Mine did it  )

Just looked on my Samsung and as off June 2023 this feature cannot be turned off, who thought that was a good idea. I'm assuming 999 would show up in recent calls if I've been doing it by accident

I had this a few years back....but with a twist. There's a mobile signal black spot of approx 2 miles on my commute. I would always* get a call saying the person had a missed call from me when I came out of that black spot.

*probably happened more than 5 times but less than 10.

So hit one of your phones buttons repeatedly and it silent calls 999? I hope it isn't the one that launches the camera, I'm always hammering that trying to get it to work. I did once manage to pocket dial 999, on an old Nokia, about 25 years ago.
