looking for a plex solution for the bedroom if anyone can offer some suggestions

ideally a bluray player with plex available that will happily stream 1080p media

my LG plasma in the living room has plex from the factory but its picky with certain media and choppy with 1080p. ended up putting a media centre in the living room.

now for the limited use the tv in the bedroom gets i don't really want to spend fortunes as i said ideally a solution sub £100 would be great

requirements

plex
sub £100
be grunts enough to play 1080p media with no issues

it will be connected to our home network on gigabit ethernet so don't need wireless or anything like that.

Chromecast is a cheap and easy solution, £30 and fantastic plex support. So long as you are happy to control it with your phone from where you'll be sitting

If you have Amazon prime, then the FireT V is available end of Oct for 50 notes, buy plex for under 3 notes from Amazon store, or side-load it if you already have it off google

The FireTV isn't getting very good reviews so i'd skip it. There are much better and similar priced Android boxes coming out by the end of the year that won't suffer from things like the current 24p issues anyway.

Be wary of android boxes. They can make great media players but if you are plugging one in to a TV then make sure it has rgb limited support or you'll be suffering with dark video and lots of black crush. If you find an android player that does have proper rgb limited support then let me know please because I'm still looking for one.

If you get a Raspberry Pi you can install Rasplex, it's been massively improved over the last year and they've fixed all the jittering issues, runs perfectly now. Need a wired setup with at least cat5e cable.

I Rasplex to my TV upstairs from my Synergy NAS in the kitchen via homeplugs. Occasionally have to restart the pi but it's cheap and works great.

cheers for the advice guys, ended up buying a xbox 1

now just to wait on plex coming out of beta

update,

got the new plex app on xboxe one, its absolutely flipping fantastic. had a bit of a wobble setting up due to needing to update my server but its rock solid, works like a charm and is more than happy streaming 1080p content.

now I need another XB1 for the living room to replace the crappy plex on our lg tv
